ADVOCATES: Making Lemonade Out of Life — Thee Lemonade Family’s Joyful Journey Through Neurodivergence & Chaos
- The Savants
- October 27, 2025

Meet Thee Lemonade Family — Brittney and Ryan, an interracial couple raising five beautifully neurodivergent children, turning everyday chaos into connection through comedy, cooking, honesty, and heart. Online, they’ve created a space where difference is not something to hide — it’s something to celebrate. Their journey isn’t polished or perfect. It’s real, raw, and radically loving — proof that even in hard seasons, joy can still pour through.
On Being a Savant
What Does Being a Savant Mean to You?
To me, being a savant just means owning the fact that I see and process life differently, and that’s okay. My brain moves in its own rhythm, and I’ve learned to stop trying to “fix” it. I make it work for me now and it helps me to better understand myself and my neurodivergent family. That’s my version of genius.
The Moment You Knew You Were Unique
How Did It Shape You?
I think I realized it when I kept trying to fit in and it just never worked. 😂 Especially once I became a mom to neurodivergent kids, it hit me like, “Oh, this is why we don’t do ‘normal.’” It really helped to shape me as a wife and mom because I stopped apologizing for it and started embracing it!

Daily Rituals
What’s Your Daily Ritual for Tapping Into Your Genius?
Honestly? My genius usually wakes up in chaos. Between homeschool, autism meltdowns, therapies and somebody always losing a shoe, I find my creativity in the in-between moments. I walk in my garden and pull out my phone to talk to the camera before everyone’s up. It helps me to get my thoughts out of my head and turn them into content. I’m also writing a cookbook and it truly helps me to recharge and express my creativity.
On Identity
In a World Obsessed with Labels, How Do You Define Yourself?
I define myself as a woman who’s learning in real time how to make lemonade out of life’s mess. I’m not trying to fit in a box — I’m trying to break it.
Misconceptions
What’s the Most Misunderstood Aspect of Your Identity or Life/Work?
People think because I share my life online, it’s easy or performative. It’s not. What I share takes heart. It’s therapy. It’s advocacy. And sometimes it’s survival. Being SAHM can be lonely and stressful. Add in 5 neurodivergent kids and a neurodivergent husband — I’m pretty convinced the cat has ADHD too 🤭 — and sometimes it can all get overwhelming. Having outlets to express my day-to-day experiences has helped me to reach other mothers and fathers who can also relate to our day-to-day experiences.

Creative Resonance
Which Piece of Music, Art, or Literature Speaks to Your Soul — and Why?
Andra Day — “Rise Up.” The way she poured pain and truth into her music hits something deep in me. Every day I remind myself to get up and do what I was designed to do. No matter how messy life gets, it’s still beautiful!
Legacy
What’s Your Legacy in the Making?
My legacy is showing my kids and my community that love can look different. It can be loud, blended, neurodivergent, and still flow in its own way. I want people to say, “She made me feel seen.”
Radical Truths
What’s the Most Radical Thing You’ve Ever Done in the Name of Passion?
Told the truth. Online. About things people usually hide. I actually cried on the internet 😳 and guess what — I went VIRAL and connected with millions of people who felt seen by my testimony. I have zero regrets.
Balancing Chaos & Calm
How Do You Balance the Chaos and the Calm in Your Life?
Some days I don’t. 😂 But I’ve learned peace isn’t about things being quiet, it’s about not fighting what’s happening. I find calm in small moments, not perfect days.
Role Models
Who’s Your Ultimate Role Model — And What Have They Taught You?
My daughter Dylan. She has cerebral palsy, autism, and apraxia, and watching her navigate the world with so much determination and never giving up is nothing short of inspiring. She’s taught me what true strength really looks like — how to keep going, celebrate small wins, and find joy even when life gets messy. Every day with her reminds me to be resilient, patient, and brave.
Wisdom to the Younger Self
If You Could Speak to Your Younger Self, What Advice Would You Give?
It’s okay to be weird. You don’t have to fit in. Live life at your own pace and focus on being happy. Not everyone will understand you and that’s okay. Some people may walk away, and that’s okay too. Your people will find you, and they’ll love and accept you just as you are.
The Power of Words
What’s Your Favorite Curse Word or Expletive, and Why?
“Shit.” 100%. 😂 It fits every mood. Good shit, bad shit, funny shit — and my favorite, “Oh shit!” It’s the universal word for motherhood. 🤭
Looking Forward
What Are You Looking Forward To?
I’m excited about growing Thee Lemonade Family brand and all the projects coming up that help other moms like me. It’s not just content anymore, it’s purpose. I feel like I’m stepping into a whole new season of life, and I’m ready for it.
